Chart notes
AMERICAN KNOW HOW bumped with an outer foe at the start, tugged forward to vie two wide into the turn, drew clear entering the lane and held sway under a drive. EYE DEE KAY laid off of the pace in the three to four path before fanning to the five path entering the lane and ran on to edge place from an inner rival in the final sixteenth. WENT WEST raced off of the pace along the inside early on, got keen moving two wide and between horses as an inner rival faltered into the turn, sustained pursuit in the three path turning for home, then ran on aiming inside of rivals into the final furlong, ranged up to offer a late bid for place but was denied. UNCLE BERLEY broke a beat slow and bumped with an inner rival leaving the gate, tracked in the four to three path into the turn, claimed place in the four path in upper stretch, but only managed to chase the clear leader before yielding between rivals in the closing stages. SEEKING SAWYER bumped an outer rival at the start, tracked along the inside, faltered and steadied back into the turn, swung out to the six path entering the lane and failed to menace. FRENCH COMPOSER was held up behind foes from the nine sixteenths pole to the half mile marker, trailed in the four path into the turn, got floated out to the seven path entering the lane and failed to factor. MAHONEY ROAD took very light contact from an inner foe soon after the start, raced forwardly two wide and between horses but faded turning for home. MIDNIGHT FIRE bobbled slightly and took contact from an inner rival before grazing an outer foe at the start, set the pace inside of the eventual winner approaching the turn, vied with that one around the bend, but proved no match entering the lane and weakened.
