Chart notes

TOM'S MAGIC stalked along the inside, steadied briefly behind the leaders around the first turn, chased the top trio around the far turn, ran on aiming inside of the leader into the final furlong, caught that drifting rival at the sixteenth pole and edged clear. GOLDEN AFTERNOON vied for the lead with an outer rival into the backstretch, then with an outer pair around the far turn, clung on to an advantage in the two to three path into the final furlong, but was collared by an inner bidder at the sixteenth pole, drifted out and got bested. CHASING LIBERTY tracked in the four path, ranged up outside of the top pair into the far turn to bid at the five sixteenths pole, but flattened out while floating to the five to six path in upper stretch, got outkicked by an inner foe while chasing in the final furlong, then vied for show with an inner rival late and held. CURAHEE prompted outside of the leader and from the three path, vied into and down the backstretch, then between horses as an outer rival bid turning for home, but failed to maintain even terms while drifting to the four path five path in upper stretch, sustained a chase to vie for show in the late stages but missed. LUCKY MISCHIEF tracked two wide and between horses, then gave way. WITHOUT CAUTION trailed in the two to three path and never got involved.
