EXPECT GLORY pressed the early pace three wide into the initial bend, was traveling well in hand, ranged up to the leaders near the quarter pole, then engaged MR JAWS in a spirited duel down the stretch got a nose in front near the finish and prevailed. MR JAWS seized the rail and inside position into the first bend, then was left to set a moderate pace to the half, had something in reserve when EXPECT GLORY challenged at the top of the stretch, battled that rival gamely for the length of the stretch and just missed in a superb effort. SILENT BLING broke outward at the break and carried BAYOU BOY out wide, the vied four wide through the clubhouse turn, then moved to track the pace four wide halfway down the backstretch, ranged up to the leaders near the five-sixteenths pole, bid five wide then went flat but won the three-way battle for the show. GRIND JIM hesitated at the break and broke a length slow, trailed early, tracked five wide down the backstretch then bid five wide from the five-sixteenths pole, made an eye-catching move to gain contention, came five wide into the stretch and was in a battle for the third spot well behind the top two. XANDER S came away well and was just behind MR JAWS going into the first turn, ceded the lead and took a stalking position just off the flank of MR JAWS, got boxed in late on the far turn but lacked a rally when clear. HASHTAGMAKITHAPPEN went three wide behind the speed through the first turn, settled near the back to the half-mile marker, launched a mild bid from the three furlong pole then flattened out in the stretch. FAIR WEATHER FLYER broke well but got a bit hard to handle when angled towards the inside shortly after the break, raced under a tight hold through the first turn then was let loose as the field turned down the backstretch, made a mild three wide bid into the stretch but had little impact. LEONARDO CREED broke out and steadied at the start, took up a tracking position along the rail behind the early pace battle, struggled to keep pace on the far turn and was shortening strides in the stretch. BAYOU BOY got carried wide out of the gate by SILENT BLING, then went five wide into the first turn, tried to launch a bid from the three furlong marker but lacked a response. FIRST CAPE settled in the middle of the pack in the scramble into the first turn, came under pressure three furlongs out and was not a factor late.
