Chart notes
MCKIRGAN far behind early, advanced on the final turn, bid inside rivals to the front in the final sixteenth. COACH KNIGHT stalked the pace outside, took over on the final turn then shortened stride in the lane. WILD CAPTAIN settled just off the pace, loomed a stretch threat making a gradual gain. FAST N SWEET dropped back early then caught stopping rivals. SMALLSCHOOL WONDER hustled to the front inside, was collared at the three eighths pole then gave way. DON'T DOUBT DECLAN moved close up briefly then stopped abruptly. A claim of foul by the third finisher against the second finisher for interference in the stretch was dismissed.
