Chart notes
EL REY DORADO off slowly, raced bac and outside, four to five wide turning for home, rallied smartly down the middle of the strip to win going away at the end. ESPIONAGE with the pace three wide, continued to vie up front while between horses, put a head in front midway on the turn, showed the way and extended that advantage a bit past the furlong marker, could not contain the winner, lasted for the place. SYNTHESIS off a step slow, remained back toward the inside, two path into the lane, rallied late through some traffic to finish up willingly while getting to the runner up. GO THE DISTANCE set or forced the pace while closest to the inside, gradually weakened through the lane. MEAN JAKEY with the pace while four wide through the turn, continued to press the issue past the furlong marker then faltered. GO WEST vied up front while between horses, weakened through the stretch. SUTHERLAND went one paced along the inside in lacking a closing response. KING ANTHONY bothered at the start to be off a step slow, remained back in failing to menace. CANE CREEK ROAD showed some brief early foot when with the first flight between horses, fell back off that group late backstretch, four wide late in the turn when still chasing then backed up through the stretch. MO RUM remained always back. FORT WARREN came in at the start to bother KING ANTHONY, was finished before a half.
