ADGER was allowed to settle from the break, angled over to the inside before the first turn then was unhurried at the back half of the field, took advantage of the rail being left open down the backstretch to advance into contention before the far turn, pulled even with GOLDEN PURSUIT at the top of the stretch, passed that one with no resistance then pulled clear to the easiest of victories. GOLDEN PURSUIT stumbled at the start, recovered well and was sent to get a stare of the early lead, went clear down the backstretch, opening up about a five length lead, had no response when ADGER challenged at the top of the stretch but finished well enough to save the place. UBSINGINTHEBLUES broke outward at the start and caused a chain reaction to the outside, then hustled to the front and had a share of the lead going into the first turn, ceded the lead and took up a tracking position three wide down the backstretch, came under a ride passing the three furlong pole, was kept to task down the stretch and outlasted the rest of the field to earn the show money. MORO TRENDSETTER was unhurried from the break and was last into the clubhouse turn, settled well behind at the back of the field through the first half-mile, regained contact with the field approaching the quarter pole then swung five or six wide into the stretch and passed tired ones late while never a serious threat. REDFORTYSEVEN raced close up through the first turn, kept to the inside, then started an extended bid from the quarter pole, chased under a drive into the stretch then was kept to task but outfinished for a minor award. THE WINNING EDGE got squeezed al the start, then went forward five wide into the first bend, tracked wide down the backstretch, launched a three wide bid on the far turn, but ran out of steam at the head of the stretch and was not a factor in the late stages. GUS CAUSE was bothered by the action to the inside at the break, then went six wide through the first turn, settled near the rear of the field through the first half, had to be hard ridden to keep up passing the half-mile pole, languished three wide on the far turn then had little to offer late. BENNETT'S LEADER went three wide through the first turn in the middle of the pack, dropped to the back of the pack down the backstretch then had little to offer up late. ROCK ISLAND ROCKET got squeezed at the start when UBSINGINTHEBLUES came over at the start, then was five wide through the first turn, no response when asked 3/8. TRAVEL GURU was hustled from the break then vied for the early lead through the clubhouse turn, allowed GOLDEN PURSUIT to go off alone on the lead down the backstretch, kept to a tracking position to the far turn then started to retreat and was not persevered with late. SIR LANCELOT RIDGE raced mid-pack along the rail through the early stages, then did not respond when roused heading into the far turn and had nothing to give in the later stages. PER RULING #SHRP32354 FROM THE TEXAS HORSE RACING COMMISSION, GOLDEN PURSUIT WAS DISQUALIFIED FROM SECOND TO UNPLACED DUE TO A POSITIE TEST.
