Chart notes
MR. FAVERSHAM lacked speed along the inside, came under a right handed crop while inching closer approaching the far turn, gained in the three path around that bend before fanning out to the five path entering the lane, sustained his rally to gain an advantage at the furlong grounds and held sway from an inner persistent counterpart. ALL WEST pressed the leader from the four path around the first turn, vied while floated to the five path into the backstretch, sparred shoulder to shoulder while moving inwardly into the far turn, dueled in the two path around that bend, led in the three path entering the lane, dug in as an outer pair took aim in upper stretch, got headed by his widest challenger at the furlong grounds, fought on doggedly through the late stages but was kept at bay. SMOOTHDINI had his hind heels clipped whlie crossing across an inner rival's path into the first turn, pursued from midpack in the two path, advanced between horses before inching closer in the three to four path into the lane, took aim along with an outer rival in upper stretch, but got outkicked then turned away for place in the final furlong. KEYS INCLUDED clipped a rival's hind heels when that one cut across his path into the first turn, recovered and trailed two wide into the backstretch, then in the three to five path into the lane, floated out to the eight path in midstretch and improved position. OVERANALYTICAL showed the way in the three path as an outer ALL WEST applied pressure, moved further off of the inside as that one moved to vie into the backstretch, sparred shoulder to shoulder whlie getting floated inwardly by his outer counterpart into the far turn, dueled along the rail while headed turning for home and gave way in upper stretch. OVER CALENDARED stalked along the inside, chased around the far turn and faded. PATH TO SUCCESS tracked in the three path, faded in the four to six path nearing the lane and was eased thereafter. THE RIDER OF KEYS INCLUDED CLAIMED FOUL AGAINST SMOOTHDINI ALLEGING INTERFERENCE INTO THE FIRST TURN. THE OBJECTION WAS UPHELD BY THE STEWARDS; SMOOTHDINI WAS DISQUALIFIED AND PLACED FOURTH.
