COASTAL BRINK got a clean break then took up a stalking position behind PERRY COUNTY through the early stages, bid for the lead about three furlongs from the finish, found that rival resurgent, battled through the stretch, had trouble keeping a straight course late, drifted in near the sixteenth pole and just failed to hold off the winner in the final yards. MOON CAT tracked at the head of the second flight to the far turn, then launched a bid from the three furlong marker, got a rail run through the far turn, responded to strong handling and intermittent urging but came up a little short in a solid effort. PERRY COUNTY broke in and bumped YOU'RE ON MUTE then was squeezed as several horses converged in the middle of the start, still made the lead turning on to the main course then was left to dictate moderate early fractions while under a light hold, had COASTAL BRINK lapped on the outside down the backstretch then dug in when that foe moved to challenge on the far turn, was holding steady down the stretch then had to steady at the sixteenth pole and lost all chance. SARGE'S SERMON was bumped by MY CALANTE right after the break then took another bump from the inside a few strides later, settled three deep with the tracking group, then bided time down the backstretch, advanced to the first flight through the turn, then finished up well under strong handling was not enough. EXCAPING THE BLUES raced close up three wide with the forward group, came under a ride from the three furlong marker, turned in an even effort late while unable to pose a serious threat. YOU'RE ON MUTE took the worst of the bumping at the start, lost the path and shuffled back, saved ground while racing with the tracking group, finished with a mild gain up the rail without being a serious threat. SHAMAYIM got crowed at the start by the bumping to the inside, then pinched back by TIGERS 'N BEARS, took up and altered course to the inside, raced near the back with only TIGERS 'N BEARS behind, was kept to task down the stretch but was unable to improve. MY CALANTE broke in at the start and made light contact with SARGE'S SERMON, race two wide in the middle of the second flight to the far turn, did not respond when asked to go on from the three furlong marker and was unable to mount a rally in the stretch. TIGERS 'N BEARS took a bump as part of the mess at the start, then was devoid of early speed and trailed far behind then was not persevered with late when hopelessly behind. This race had a timing discrepancy or malfunction and was re-timed using video technology to arrive at the most accurate time.
