Chart notes
RHODESIA , with the pace five wide deep and under early rating, dropped in a path and moved to apply more pressure mid turn, responded when set down soon into the lane then emerged in a duel outside TRIPLE PASS past mid stretch, briefly shook clear under a drive in deep stretch then had just enough left to last over an outer WINNING BIG. WINNING BIG flashed speed then rated back of the embattled fivesome leaving the five eighths, was hustled along pursuing past the three eighths, worked outward and came six wide into the lane, straightened away, leveled off to his best stride after switching leads near the sixteenth pole, finished fast outside the winner and simply ran out of ground. TRIPLE PASS , brushed at the break, disputed the early pace four wide between runners, dropped in a path while still between foes and sparred from the five sixteenths to upper stretch, stayed on to contest the issue inside the winner to deep stretch then gave way grudgingly. FORTY NINER GOLD , with the leaders three wide between runners through the backstretch, could not quite go on with the leading trio nearing the quarter pole, shifted out a bit in the drive and found more to make some inroads through the final seventy yards. LIGHT THE BEAM broke slowly then settled off of a contested pace, saved ground into the lane, worked outward past mid stretch and finished well between horses. THE SCENT had speed and disputed the pace two wide between rivals, dropped back some mid turn, eased out a bit and made a bit of a run leaving mid stretch, chased and flattened out. NOW AND ZEN , brushed at the break, raced off the pace while three wide, angled seven wide into the stretch but lacked a bid. IN VRONSKY STYLE advanced inside a quartet of runners and took a short lead nearing the five eighths, was hounded into and around the turn, failed to kick on nearing mid stretch and faltered.
