Chart notes
ROYALIST was allowed to settle inside early, went on the rail through the first turn then angled out to the three path midway down the backstretch, launched a three-wide bid from the three furlong pole then pulled even with HE'S A STRIKER at the top of the stretch, battled that foe to the wire and finished with relentless determination on the outside to prevail. HE'S A STRIKER gained the lead and was left alone to dictate the pace, slowed down through the first half, then hand plenty left when challenged by ROYALIST at the top of the stretch, battled doggedly to the inside and came up short at the wire. GET DREAMY made a mild middle move up the rail on the backstretch, then bid in earnest leaving the three furlong pole, chased gallantly ithrough the stretch while on the left lead but was unable to threaten the top pair to the wire while well clear of the next horse. MAP THIS OUT vied for the early lead but was caught four wide through the first turn, settled three wide and settled at the back just to the outside of the KEEP UP THE PACE, was put into a drive from the three furlong pole, outfinished a couple of tired ones but otherwise unable to threaten. KEEP UP THE PACE was hustled out of the gate but could not contest the early pace and raced last in the compact field, was still under a ride going down the backstretch, was kept to task but had little to offer late. TOO COLD AT HOME stalked HE'S A STRIKER through the early stages, then weakened on the far turn and was done before the stretch.
