Chart notes
LEAP DAY showed good early speed and set the pace to the turn, set a contested pace from the three path nearing the quarter pole, battled BILLY DE KID into the stretch, repelled the runner-up into the final sixteenth and drew clear under moderate late urging. BILLY DE KID chased five wide to the turn, loomed five wide at the quarter pole then vied for the lead into upper stretch, battled LEAP DAY to the final sixteenth, was repelled into deep stretch and held safely at the finish for the place. DANNYBOB fractious in the gate, chased the early pace two wide nearing the quarter pole, ran in pursuit into the stretch then needed more in the final sixteenth, mounted a mild late rally and was clear in the end for the show. DUSTY BOOTS N LUCK pressed the early pace four wide and between runners, got caught in tight nearing the quarter pole, chased four wide into upper stretch then weakened in the final sixteenth. COYSTER chased the early pace from outside of runners, raced five wide into upper stretch then shifted further out at the furlong marker, could not find more into the final sixteenth and finished evenly. CARTEL ATTITUDE off a step slow to begin, tracked the early pace from the inside, swung three wide for the stretch drive then lacked the needed late response. JERSEY JOE took back off of the early pace, trailed to the quarter pole, swung four to five wide into upper stretch then did not factor in the drive. YOU BUY I FLY V chased the early pace from the inside, could not keep pace at the quarter pole then gave way in the stretch drive.
