Chart notes
POINT DUME broke alertly and hustled to the front then held rival safe through the final furlong while kept to a drive. DEPOSITION saved ground off the leader, loomed a threat but could not get by the winner. BERNIE'S MITTS raced in closest pursuit of the pacesetter and continued willingly. ELOQUIST in tight on the first turn, chased inside and lacked a solid response. DUKE OF GLOUCESTER broke step slowly, offered a brief outside bid at the quarter pole and faded. IN SPADES bit reluctant loading, broke a step slowly then lacked his usual speed and gave way readily. CLASSIC UNION flashed speed between rivals then was finished before half a mile.
