Chart notes
MONTEBELLO broke out at the start and was corrected, chased five then four wide coming under coaxing at the three-eighths marker, swung six wide into upper stretch, rallied in tandem with the runner up to overthrow the leader a furlong out, dug in dueling through to the finish and gamely prevailed at the end. GONE AND FORGOTTEN four then three wide in pursuit, came under urging three furlongs from home, angled five wide into upper stretch, rallied to take command a furlong out, dueled with the aforementioned foe through to the finish in game fashion but was ultimately bested on the wire. HEY TOBY hustled from the gate, dueled three then two wide with POP COYER to his inside, got set down spinning four wide into upper stretch, yielded the front inside the three-sixteenths and weakened in the late stages while clear for the show honors. HORSE BE WITH YOU coaxed from the start, chased two then three wide under a ride from the seven-sixteenths, went seven to eight wide into upper stretch and improved position by a pair of tired rivals. STOP THE SPREAD hustled from the gate, chased just off the inside and then along the inside ridden along from midway on the turn, tipped three wide at the head of the stretch and weakened in the drive. POP COYER coaxed from the start, dueled inside of HEY TOBY from the six furlong marker, got pushed along three furlongs out, spun just off the inside into upper stretch and remained prominent to the three-sixteenths, then tired through to the finish.
