Chart notes

OUR SECRET CANDY chased the early pace three wide, bid into upper stretch, took command at the furlong grounds, drew away under hand urging into the final sixteenth and held sway late. WEST TX RAIN tracked the early pace from the outside, went four to five wide nearing the quarter marker, swung six wide for the stretch drive, closed willingly in the lane, could not reel in the winner late and was second best. T KAYOH stumbled start, chased between two wide turn, battled stretch, yielded late, clear for third. EL MAESTRO stalked four wide along the turn, advanced while a bit in tight into upper stretch, could not sustain that run into the late stages and flattened out. HOCKALISHOUS showed good early speed from the inside, was overtaken nearing the furlong marker then faded. PERRYS DOWN DUCK off a bit slowly, chased two wide to the quarter pole, made a mild gain into the stretch then weakened in the final furlong. NATIONAL PHOEBE shifted to the rail early on, chased to the quarter pole then came up empty in the stretch drive.
