Chart notes
HEARD ON THESTREET stalked the pace from the two path on the turn, eased out three wide approaching the stretch, swept to command approaching the eighth pole and drew away while kept to a drive. GREAT HEAVENS prompted the pace outside ELVIS HIMSELF around the turn, gained a brief led in upper stretch, was no match for the winner and finished gamely to hold the place. CARVELLIAN QUEST lacked speed, swung to the four path entering the stretch and passed tired horses. RESTLESS hugged the inner rail around the turn, chased the pace, eased off the rail in upper stretch and weakened. ELVIS HIMSELF sped to the early lead, hugged the inner rail and faltered in the drive. JASIEL lacked speed, pulled up after sustaining an injury entering the turn and was transported off the track on the equine ambulance. There was a stewards' inquiry concerning the run leaving the backstretch but no action was taken.
