COUNTRY CAPER came away well and raced close up to the far turn, launched a bid with about three furlongs to run, came four or five wide into the stretch and finished well under strong handling to prevail in a blanket finish. CLIFF DIVER tracked well behind the pace but in the clear down the backstretch, launched a three wide bid from the three furlong marker, came six wide into the stretch and closed relentlessly to just miss. FROM THE HEART unhurried, settled at the rear while keeping to the rail, navigated a clever path through the far turn, avoiding traffic trouble then got a fortunate opening in upper stretch, responded to strong handling but came up short in a very tight finish. IMUA KAI raced inside with the second flight, had to wait for racing room, tipped out to the four path for the stretch run, ran on well under strong handling but was outfinished in the final yards. PROWLING TIGER settled inside with the third flight, stayed to the inside on the far turn, was stuck behind horses until late on the far turn, got clear in upper stretch but lacked a winning kick. SHARP SPARK was two wide near the rear of the field turning on to the main course, ran on late and picked off some rivals with mild late interest while never a serious threat. PAINTBRUSH was last out of the chute, went three wide through the far turn and was kept to task and passed some stragglers in the stretch. CINCO RICHIE raced three wide with the tracking group to the far turn, loomed three wide late on that turn but overrun in upper stretch and outkicked to the wire. SONIC POSSE ranged up to join PAPA RIZZO on the lead coming out of the chute, was a constant shadow to that rival through the early running, ramped up the pressure going into the far turn, came into the stretch with a slight lead but a host of challengers poised for the stretch run, then was overtaken with about a furlong to run. A. P.'S SECRET was mid-pack through the first half then struggled to keep up late and had nothing to offer in the stretch. PAPA RIZZO was hustled from the break and got the lead coming out of the chute, led the way to the far turn with some pressure from SONIC POSSE, gave way near the quarter pole and had nothing left for the stretch run.
