KAWAZAKI (IRE) tracked two wide out of range, moved into striking distance in the middle stages, bid three wide at the quarter pole, dueled outside OVER THE OCEAN down the stretch and dug in to best the runner-up. OVER THE OCEAN was closest in pursuit early on, applied pressure from outside midway up the backstretch, dueled and took over on the far turn, held a short lead over rivals on both sides approaching the stretch, dueled inside KAWAZAKI (IRE) down the lane and yielded grudgingly. NAISMITH broke a step slow, reserved on the inside early, went two wide into the far turn, made progress while angling out to the five path, kept on down the lane and gained third. BIG JUANITO traveled in mid-pack outside a rival, drew closer past the half-mile pole, chased two to three wide around the far turn, angled out into the stretch and failed to produce a bid. SMOOTH SALUTE trailed in the two path, passed a rival on the backstretch, angled five wide around the far turn and showed a mild response to improve. SIX MAGPIES (IRE) scrambled leaving the gate, angled to the inside racing towards the rear, ran into traffic from the five-sixteenths pole to the quarter pole, chased three deep into the lane and failed to rally. ANDREADYTORUMBLE off slow to begin, settled next to the fence, got shuffled back on the far turn, tipped two wide and chased between rivals exiting the bend and failed to menace down the lane. KHANTARO D'ORO took control along the inside, pressure at the half-mile pole, dueled on the far turn, relinquished the lead at the quarter pole, yielded into the lane and folded in the final furlong. BRONKO NAGURSKI unhurried in the three path, trailed up the backstretch, rounded the far turn in the two path then along the inside and was never a factor. HURRICANE WAY stalked from inside, drew closer in the middle stages, started to weaken past the quarter pole, guided off the rail in upper stretch, eased in the furlong grounds and walked off.
