MR MCGREGOR unhurried in the beginning, moved up around the second turn, waited, blocked, split rivals at the head of the stretch, brushed READY TO PURRFORM, moved inside and proved the best. MAASAI WARRIOR lacked early speed, had an outside trip, moved up around the final turn, dueled down the home stretch and proved second best. RUNNIN MUNNIN vied for the early advantage, forwardly placed throughout and proved no match for the top two late. FRENCH COMPOSER showed early speed, saved ground and faded. READY TO PURRFORM dueled for the early lead, racing between rivals, was brushed at the head of the final stretch and weakened. IRON IN THE FIRE always raced near the back and was outrun.
