ROMAN GODDESS coaxed from the gate, chased three to four paths off the inside down the backstretch before tucking to the two path through the turn getting placed to coaxing with seven-sixteenths remaining, swung six then five wide into upper stretch, rallied to take command a sixteenth from home, inched away in the late stages to the wire. MAD FOR MADDY dueled from the two path with LA GROTTE midway down the backstretch, tucked inside into the turn and was shaken off with seven-sixteenths to go and came under urging at the three-eighths, took the inside route into upper stretch, came again along the inside and ran on to secure the place honors. HARLAN'S BOND hustled from the gate, raced forwardly placed four wide coaxed along down the backstretch, advanced nine-sixteenths from home to vied briefly for the front before emerging to duel with LA GROTTE with seven-sixteenths to go, knocked heads through the turn and continued three wide into upper stretch, dug in clinging to command until displaced a sixteenth from home, kept on to preserve the show honors. LA GROTTE coaxed from the gate, led early on from the two path before being engaged in a duel by MAD FOR MADDY and then a pace dispute when joined by the aforementioned foe with nine-sixteenths to run, shook off that inner pace rival and dueled through the turn with HARLAN'S BOND coming under encouragement at the five-sixteenths, spun just off the inside into upper stretch, weakened in the late stages. TROUBLED LUCK bobbled at the break, chased six to seven paths off the inside down the backstretch and then four wide through the turn, went six to seven wide into upper stretch and weakened. FAST KIMMIE five then four wide in pursuit, got ridden along three furlongs out, swung four wide into upper stretch, tired.
