Chart notes
DUSTY BILLY bobbled leaving the gate to give the field several lengths, circled the field on the turn to sweep to the lead and pulled clear as much the best. HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS reserved off the pace down the backsid, ralied six wide turning for home and finihsed willingly to be second best. VERNON'S BEST rated in mid-pack to be in striking distance and mounted a mild bid in the lane to be along for the show. MOONSHINE JOE unhurried in the early going to be near the back of the field, waited briefly early in the turn for racing room, split rivals turning for home, angled out in upper stretch and showed some late interest. SMOKIN JOE stalked the pace from the inside, was set to a drive along the rail, did not respond whil in the kickback, angled out in mid-stretch and picked up ground late. SOULLESS tracked the pace down the backside, was held up off leaders heels leaving the half mile pole, rallied to threaten on the turn and flattened out in the lane. WAR ON THE RIVER set the pace and gave way coming home.
