Chart notes

SURVEILLANCE moved in early while going to the front then showed the way, went clear inside the nine-sixteenths pole, was urged along in the two path on the turn, responded well when put to a right-handed crop in upper stretch, remained under the crop until inside the sixteenth-pole then held determinedly while placed under a strong hand-ride to the finish. JUST BEAT THE ODDS angled in while showing speed, dropped just off the pace near the nine-sixteenths pole, moved in leaving the backstretch, saved ground on the turn, was roused near the quarter-pole then shifted to the three path into the stretch, chased the winner on the outside, was put to a left-handed crop at the furlong marker, switched to a right-handed crop outside the sixteenth-pole, gained on the winner late and just missed while well clear for the place. ROTKNEE was hustled from the gate, steadied when foes crossed in front early, angled out near the five-eighths pole, advanced quickly on the outside late on the backstretch, chased in the three path on the turn, turned into upper stretch under a drive, pursued the winner into the final furlong and weakened but held the show. BOLD JOURNEY steadied when the leaders crossed in front early, settled off the pace, saved ground under urging on the turn, moved to the two path outside the quarter-pole, swung out to the five path into the stretch and lacked the needed response. RIDGEWOOD RUNNER was carried in early then dropped back, moved out outside the five-eighths pole, was urged along near the back, traveled around the turn in the two to three path, turned into the stretch in the six path and failed to threaten.
