Chart notes
TOUGHNESS brushed leaving the gate, took control inside DISTANT FLEET early, drew away around the bend, then padded the margin under hand urging in the lane. PANUCO coaxed along chasing off the rail then moved inside leaving the backstretch, saved ground through the turn, hugged the rail to the stretch and bested the rest. WINDS OF FREEDOM stumbled a bit at the start, stalked off the rail to the turn, chased three deep turning for home, took aim at the winner in upper stretch but flattened out in the final sixteenth. GENERAL JACKSON hustled from the gate but lacked early quickness and dropped off the pace, chased two then three wide on the turn, moved out further in upper stretch and could not rally. DISTANT FLEET broke in and bumped, showed early speed outside TOUGHNESS, chased two wide around the bend and between rivals coming into the stretch, then weakened down the lane. HEBER bobbled and got pinballed leaving the gate, saved ground next to the fence on the turn and passed a tired rival. INFAMOUS ANGEL tracked in the four path entering the turn, remained wide to the stretch and faded.
