Chart notes
INSTANT REPLAY five wide when off the pace through the first turn, continued outside under a snug hold up the backstretch, let out a notch while four wide second turn, remained four wide for the drive, set down, late charge while continuing widest to be up in time. CALDERA moved out to be four wide through the first turn, stalked the pace the middle half mile, came three wide for the stretch run, altered course late behind the leader, finished willingly while between horses and inside the winner. FIRST DIVISION prompted the leader through some soft fractions, took over outside the leader into the stretch, drifted out a bit upper stretch, narrowly showed the way past the furlong marker, drifted in a sixteenth out, nailed in the waning strides. HYMN broke running, showed the way into the first turn just off the inside, set a soft set of fractions firmly in hand, responded when FIRST DIVISION came calling turning for home, gave ground grudgingly to the wire. PRETTY CAPABLE tracked the pacesetter in the two path, called on for run late in the second turn, came up empty for the drive. HOT GUNNER fell back to trail after the start and was never a factor while saving ground.
