ALLEVA hustled from the start and secured the inside position as five contested the lead in the initial stages, then four, then three on the turn, took a short lead in upper stretch then edged clear under steady handling. MILITARY BEARING contested the early pace two deep to mid-stretch, gave way grudgingly entering the furlong grounds and was able to hold second. FOUR DICE was between horses with the tracking group, dropped out and lost some ground heading into the turn, circled the field five-wide late on the turn, continued to run on down the stretch and gained third. NAPOLEONIC CODE raced three wide in the tracking group, dropped down the to rail midway on the turn then put in strong late run under right handed urging up the rail. BOBBY BOY raced mid-pack inside with the second flight, angled out to the four path in the stretch and finished with some interest. STEAUXLIT was pushed for forward position from the break, vied four then three wide on the turn, gave way before the furlong grounds to the top pair then was unable to hold third. INFINITESIMAL steadied briefly after the start then was being coaxed to get forward position, switched to the outside before the turn, launched a bid with three furlongs to run, came three wide into the stretch then flattened out. THE THIMBLE raced three wide with the second flight through the initial stages then came under a ride to keep pace on the turn and could not muster a late rally. INSIGNIS was allowed to settle at the back, raced four wide and was never a threat. AFFIRM CHIEF dwelt at the break then ducked in after leaving the barrier, spotted the field a big head start, regained contact with the field near the three furlong pole, saved ground and was kept to task. DR. SNYDER was between horses in a four-way pace battle early, dropped out passing the three furlong pole then produced a steady retreat through the late stages.
