Chart notes
CARTHAGE CAJUN settled inside of the back pair, got a right handed cue near the seven-sixteenths marker then started a three wide bid on the far turn, came five wide into the stretch and finished well under steady handing to prevail. DOC HIGGINS assumed the early lead going into the first turn then was joined by NUMERO SIETE down the backstretch, was put into a drive from the seven-sixteenths but could not shake off the shadow, weakened passing the quarter pole but kept on with good courage under relentless handling, came back and claimed the second spot. NUMERO SIETE broke in the air, rushed to to join the leader on the first turn, pressed outside that rival down the backstretch and through the turn, appeared to get the best of the rival passing the quarter pole but found a resurgent foe, battled down the stretch, could not get by the rival despite steady handing and urging. LIL BRO COOP lacked speed and settled early at the rear with CARTHAGE CAJUN, was asked to go on after passing the half mile pole but could not keep up late and chased the top three to the wire. CONFUCIUS tracked inside with the tracking pair then struggled to keep up late. F J'S FLACO tracked two deep through the first half then lacked a late bid.
