Chart notes
STRING OCTET sprinted to the lead soon after the start, set the pace under pressure into the turn, was headed nearing the five sixteenths pole, regained command at the top of the stretch, responded under mild right hand urging through mid stretch and drew off to win as much the best while taken in hand late. MOR STORMY pressed the pace three wide and finished clear for second. FINALLY FRIDAY pressured the winner along the rail into the turn, gained a narrow lead, set the pace to the top of the stretch and weakened late. RUNAWAY POWER had good early speed for four then faded. FAST AND FRIENDLY drifted out at the start and was no threat. A VAN ON THE RUN was no factor.
