Chart notes
SEISMIC SPIRIT (IRE) seized the early advantage on the clubhouse turn, then was joined by UXMAL at the six furlong pole, went together with that rival down the back stretch through slow fractions, then gained the advantage approaching the quarter pole, was challenged by GLOBAL SENSATION from the top of the stretch but dug in under steady handling and held on determinedly to the wire. GLOBAL SENSATION was held up through the first turn then moved forward towards the leaders down the backstretch, eased out three wide into the stretch, finished well under strong handling but could not get by the stubborn rival while finishing well clear of the next horse. UXMAL moved up the inside to challenge for the lead turning onto the backstretch, dueled through moderate fractions to the far turn, weakened near the quarter pole and finished evenly. RUNNIN MUNNIN rated two to three wide just off the leaders, launched a three wide bid leaving the five-sixteenths pole but could not find the needed response in the lane. POINT PROVEN missed the break, spotted the field about five lengths head start and trailed throughout.
