Chart notes
TOUCHUPONASTAR broke sharply to go to the front to an unchallenged lead and when asked at the top of the stretch he widened the lead to prove best. BENOIT chased the leader throughout and was no match but was clearly second best. HIGHLAND CREEK tracked the leader while saving ground through the final turn then tipped out to three wide on the final turn but lacked a late response. COSMIC TRAIN trailed the field around the first turn then moved up down the backstretch and made a rail bid in the stretch to improve his position late. SAINT GABRIEL stalked the pace from three wide to the final turn but failed to menace. BLUE CHEESE was unhurried and never a factor.
