Chart notes
ANNIKA'S SONG away alertly and battled for the lead from the outside of GIMLET entering the first turn, continued to force the pace from the outside of that rival in the run down the backside and through the final turn, and wore down that stubborn rival late to prevail. GIMLET away well and vied for the lead from along the rail entering the first turn, set a pressured pace from the inside of ANNIKA'S SONG in the run down the backstretch and through the final turn, held the narrowest of advantages into the lane, and just failed to last. WHY NOTS A WYNNER broke sharply and tracked the dueling leaders into the backstretch while racing one out from the rail, engaged the pacesetters three wide entering the final turn, chased that pair three wide through the turn, but needed more when called upon. NU BLEND tracked the leaders from the back of a compact field in the run down the backside, failed to keep in touch with the leaders approaching the final turn, and had little to offer late.
