Chart notes
RICHIESGOTGAME steadied soon after the start, trailed for nearly a half mile, circled his field four then three wide, made the lead on the far turn then widened the balance of the trip under strong handling to win as much the best. MR. THUNDERSTRUCK close up along the inside, shifted three wide on the far turn, rallied into the stretch and finished clear for second. CUGINE away alertly, set the pace for five furlongs, kept on into the stretch and weakened late. STAR ENTERTAINER unhurried early, swung wide and passed tiring rivals in the six path. WASHINGTON'S UNION pressed the pace three then two wide through the far turn and weakened after six furlongs. CREDIT RIVER pressed the early pace two wide and was through after a half. DARK BARON was rank while fighting restraint through the clubhouse turn, had speed for a half then stopped.
