LAMENTABLE JARIN tracked two wide in the early stages, bid three wide nearing the quarter pole, loomed into upper stretch then took command into the final furlong, kept to task into the final sixteenth and lasted for the win in the final strides. NOT A WORD tracked while saving ground, was caught in tight and waited for room at the quarter pole, found room along the inside into upper stretch then angled out at the furlong marker, closed fast to deep stretch and just missed for the win, while well clear of the rest for second. WHISKEY DRINKER vied for the early lead, took command and set the pace into the backstretch, showed the way to the second turn then led into upper stretch, was overtaken at the furlong marker, could not match strides with the top pair late and held safely for third. GOSPEL PRECIOUS contested the pace into the first turn then ceded the lead and stalked into the backstretch, chased inside then two wide along the second turn, spun three wide for the drive, was outkicked at mid-stretch then weakened in the final sixteenth. LOOKIN LUCKY AGAIN unhurried early, made a steady advance while wide into the second turn, rallied five wide into the stretch, could not sustain that run late and flattened out. ATHELAS allowed to settle, saved ground to the second turn, made a mild gain at the quarter marker then could not find more in the stretch. IMPUDENT tracked the early pace while four wide then settled in the second flight, labored toward the back into the second turn and was not a late factor. SHES A DEVIL WOMAN rushed up and stalked three wide along the first turn, raced close up to the pace into the backstretch then chased two wide into the second turn, gave way nearing the quarter pole then stopped in the stretch, was pulled up before the finish and walked off under her own power. This race was originally hand timed and was re-timed using video technology to arrive at the most accurate time available.
