HILL ROAD stumbled at the start, raced along the inside through the first turn and then just off the inside down the backstretch settling near the rear of the field, tipped three to four wide through the far turn and came under coaxing three furlongs out, swung four wide into upper stretch, rallied with a good finish through the final furlong and was up in the last jumps to prevail. MCAFEE got bumped at the start by UNCAGED, who broke inwards, then got pinched back when squeezed between foes as VASSIMO came outwards under hustling with eight and a half furlongs to go, raced three then four wide through the first turn forwardly placed, chased four paths off the inside down the backstretch and then tucked three wide through the far turn patiently handled, spun just off the inside into upper stretch set down for the drive, dug in under a drive knocking heads with barn mate and got bumped askew just outside the eighth pole when that rival came out, dug in taking narrow command a sixteenth from home under growing late threat and was caught in the final strides to the wire. CAPTAIN COOK coaxed from the gate, showed the way in hand just off the inside, tucked inside into the far turn and got placed to encouragement with five-sixteenths to go, took the inside route into upper stretch and got engaged in head to head combat by the aforementioned foe, dug in coming out slightly and bumped that threat just outside the eighth pole, got collared a sixteenth from home, ran on clear of the rest for the show honors. SURFSIDE MOON coaxed from the gate, got forced to steady off the heels of VASSIMO as that rival came outwards under hustling eight and a half furlongs from home, tucked inside through the turn and chased along the rail down the backstretch, tipped to the two path into the far turn and got placed to urging with seven-sixteenths remaining, angled out five wide into upper stretch and offered up a mild kick. VASSIMO hustled from the gate and flashed the crop to the right side, came out regardless and forced SURFSIDE MOON to steady off his heels while putting the squeeze on MCAFEE, raced along the inside into the first turn, tipped out briefly behind the leader seven and a half furlongs from home before making his way three wide seven furlongs out and keeping MCAFEE forced four wide, prompted the leader three then two wide coming under urging at the three-eighths marker, swung three wide into upper stretch, weakened in the stretch. UNCAGED broke in at the start bumping MCAFEE, chased just off the inside under prolonged coaxing from five furlongs out, tucked inside with half a mile to run, continued in the inside route at the quarter pole and weakened through to the finish. HAPPILY DELUSIONAL brushed the near side stall at the start, chased just off the inside under prolonged encouragement from the half mile pole, angled four wide at the top of the stretch and made no impact. BRERETON'S BAYTOWN a bit reluctant to load prior to the start, raced just off the inside through the first turn and then three wide down the backstretch, continued three wide coming under urging three furlongs out, tipped four wide into upper stretch and weakened. FIRST PITCH four then three wide through the first turn, chased four wide under a ride from the half mile pole, continued three to four wide at the head of the lane, tired and was eased home through the final eighth.
