Chart notes
GUNNERY SERGEANT vied outside in the early stages, bid three wide on the turn, gained a short lead at the quarter pole, dueled with BLUE MARBLE, bumped that rival at the furlong marker, dug in gamely outside in the final sixteenth and edged away for the win. BLUE MARBLE broke out bumping a rival at the start, vied two wide early, then vied inside, dueled inside on the turn, battled heads apart with GUNNERY SERGEANT in upper stretch, was bumped at the eighth pole, continued gamely inside of the winner and was outfinished late. EMIRATES HONOR stalked outside, chased four wide on the turn, rallied outside, made a bid and finished evenly. LOCK BARREL broke a step slow, pulled racing close up on the inside, steadied at the half mile marker, continued on the inside and rallied on the rail in the stretch. MINE SEEKER broke in bumping a rival at the start, raced off the pace, came wide into the stretch and failed to threaten. MANO E MANO chased between rivals, chased on the turn and faded. DAVE THE GREAT was bumped on both sides and pinched at the break, then vied between rivals for the lead, dueled on the turn and gave way. After a Stewards' Inquiry and Jockey Objection from the runner up against the winner, the race was declared official.
