Chart notes
HOODLESS broke on top, took charge to set the pace shifting in a bit up the backstretch, edged clear of pursuers willingly early on the turn, was shaken up at the top of the stretch, responded to kick away extending the advantage and received moderate but steady urging till the wire. SERIOUS GREEN exchanged light bumps in the early going, was in tight steadying just slightly about the four- and one-half marker, made a mild advance late on the far turn, came out a bit for the drive, was no match for the winner but clearly second best. CODICIA POR VIDA broke out just a bit, made a mild early advance outside, chased the winner unable to keep pace with that one on the turn, lacked the needed late kick. THE FIERY ONE (GB) exchanged bumps between runners in the early going, tracked in behind but was shuffled slightly nearing the three-eighths, shifted four wide coming into upper stretch, was never near enough to threaten. CLOSING APPEAL bumped lightly with a rival early while showing brief speed just off the leader, floated six wide into upper stretch, failed to rally. MOON OVER ESSA appeared to hit the gate and was away slowly, trailed throughout, came out seven to eight wide for the stretch run, was not a factor.
