Chart notes

JERRY'S OUT prompted the pace on the outside, was asked leaving the backstretch, chased in the two then three path for most of the turn, moved to the four path outside the quarter-pole, pursued the leader under a drive in upper stretch, made a bid into the final furlong, took the lead near the sixteenth-pole and prevailed under strong urging. ON THE MOUNT went to the front, showed the way on the inside of a rival, vied inside to the two path on the turn, was asked nearing the quarter-pole, drifted out under a right-handed crop in upper stretch, switched to a left-handed crop near the furlong marker, led until just before the sixteenth-pole then was headed by the winner and missed while just able to get the place. TRACKING ERROR was hustled from the gate, moved out inside the seven-eighths pole, settled under some urging, was roused for more near the nine-sixteenths pole, dropped in late on the backstretch, saved ground while hard ridden on the turn, turned into the stretch under the crop, moved off the rail in the drive and gained willingly late to just miss the place while able to get third. ARDAGH RED (IRE) broke a step slow, moved out early then settled on the outside, was urged along late on the backstretch, chased in the three then four path for most of the turn, moved to the five path outside the quarter-pole, kept on in pursuit of the vanguard in the stretch and lacked the needed kick.
