Chart notes
HOLA JOEY was forwardly placed soon after the start, settled in hand and stalked the top pair leaving the backstretch, was ridden along late on the turn, coaxed three then two wide down the lane, steadily edged closer on the leader, collared rival near the sixteenth pole and finished clear. TIME TO FLY pressed the early pace, vied around the turn, shook free to a slim lead at the head of the lane, battled on holding a slight edge into the final furlong then got overtaken near the final sixteenth. LOCK AND LOAD moved up closer and raced in range going by the quarter pole, came two wide into the upper stretch, sustained a steady bid and finished well clear over the rest. SPINNING PRIDE led the way in opening stages, dueled with TIME TO FLY around the turn and tired in the drive. WILLIAMS EMPIRE raced in the back early on, came under a ride two to three wide late on the turn and lacked a needed rally. ROME'S CONQUEST was not far back going by the half mile marker then flattened around the turn and had no late response. HASTY FLYER chased in contention in the opening quarter then steadily retreated.
