TITANIC THOMPSON set the pace under pressure from outer rival, inched ahead late on the backstretch, cleared around the turn, remained unchallenged under right handed encouragement into deep stretch, came under threat from BIG BILL late and held on. BIG BILL broke in and bumped, got put in tight early, settled inside, hugged the rail to the stretch, finished well along the fence, tipped outside the winner late but ran out of time. HIGHPLAINSDRIFTER traveled in mid-pack off the rail then between rials, tipped out and came four wide into the lane, closed well in the final furlong and finished gamely outside the top pair late. JUST A GRAZE prompted the pace from outside, chased two wide around the bend, remained in range to the sixteenth pole and weakened late. BONNEVILLE JIM settled off the rail, raced outside a rival into the turn, spun four wide into the lane, kept trying through the final furlong but needed to find more. OAKLEY'S SMILE took a bump at the start, got put in tight between early, stalked keenly in hand between foes then moved inside, cut the corner into the stretch, moved off the fence a bit in the lane but flattened late. DROP THE BIT tracked on the inside then moved off the fence a bit, was driven two wide into the lane, angled out and lacked a rally. BRAHMS MENDELSSOHN forwardly placed in the early going from outside, crept closer in the three path on the turn but weakened in the furlong grounds. MAV MAN unhurried in the opening stages, angled down to the inside, asked left handed in upper stretch but failed to respond. SMILING CAPOTE coaxed along the inside near the back then trailed inside a rival into the turn, tipped two wide leaving the bend and proved no menace. THROWIN HEAT missed the break to come away last, trailed early then raced outside a rival at the back leaving the backstretch, went two to three wide around the bend and failed to make an impact. BIG NOTION sat off the pace early, took the turn three to four wide and never threatened.
