Chart notes
MAXIMUM FIFTY assumed command on the rail down the backside, rider was statuesque going comfortably up front still dictating terms around the bend, improved the advantage inside entering the stretch, did not switch leads until the sixteenth pole but had enough left late to hold safe for the frontrunning win. GIVE ME THE BOOTS hounded the leader on the outside down the backside, continued to keep a close eye on the frontrunner sitting just outside through the running around the oval, chased the winner in vain down the entire stretch not giving up, could not close the gap but easily bested the others for the runners up share when crossing the finish line. VERDEJO was allowed to settle at the back down the backside, made little impact being nudged for more seeing the field throughout the turn, shifted out four wide with clear run at the top of the lane and with a furlong remaining had a strong late burst to get up right at the wire for third money. HALEY'S HONOR sat on the rail just behind the pacesetter down the back straight, was roused at the quarter pole with company outside but could not keep up to the lead pair, battled on the fence for the show prize down the lane, got the better of that one late but was caught right at the finish line by an outside closer and settled on the fringes in the end. BREEZERO was isolated in midfield in the early stages, shifted just off the fence with five sixteenths to go starting to commence a run, moved in to loom three wide at the top of the lane but flattened out dueling for third money in mid-stretch. IMA BEAST had a stalking position ahead of only one runner along the backside, was hard ridden but was losing ground to others through the turn, shifted out in the three path for the stretch running but could not get into contention running down the lane.
