Chart notes
PAJARO was squeezed back leaving the gate, settled in the middle of the pack on the outside up the backstretch, came around the turn in the three path, began a bid passing the quarter pole and dueled to the wire to get up for the win. BEIJING BOSS tracked the leader on the outside up the backstretch, challenged from the two path coming around the turn and dueled to the finish to just miss. SURF'S UP bumped with the horse to his inside leaving the gate, recovered to lead the way up the backstretch, saved ground around the far bend and gave way late. ATWORK bumped with the horse to his outside at the start, raced off the pace on the rail early, saved ground around the bend and improved position mildly from there. DEEP DUSK raced off the pace on the outside through the opening quarter, navigated the turn from the three path and showed no kick. RED THORN broke through the gate prior to the race, was held by his handler and reloaded, bumped with the horses to both sides at the proper start, chased the leader on the inside up the backstretch, saved ground around the bend and faded in the stretch. AMERICAN DIRECTION hit the gate leaving it, causing his rider to lose a stirrup, took up to trail the field and recover it, came around the turn in the two path and made no bid.
