PIPER'S CAUSEWAY was closest in pursuit up the backstretch, latched onto DEVIL AMONG US on the turn, put a head in front in upper stretch, continued to battle with DEVIL AMONG US holding a short advantage into deep stretch and gamely prevailed. DEVIL AMONG US sprinted clear and showed the way in the opening stages, took pressure from PIPER'S CAUSEWAY on the turn, lost command in upper stretch, fought back from inside through the lane and finished gamely in defeat. CODY BOY unhurried early on, exited the backstretch on the inside, drifted to the three path at the five-sixteenths pole, angled back to the rail, finished well from the fence and got up for third. SUPERNAL checked behind PIPER'S CAUSEWAY early, chased between rivals, asked three wide on the turn, finished evenly late and lost third. UNBRIDLED VISION dropped back early, went two wide into the turn, got floated to the four path by CODY BOY at the five-sixteenths pole, remained wide to the stretch and whittled the gap on the leaders late. CAROL'S COMIC stalked the speed inside a pair of rivals to the turn, moved out a bit into the lane and weakened. RUNKERRY was a bit fractious in the gate, lost his path early when PIPER'S CAUSEWAY crossed in front, chased four wide approaching the turn, angled to the two path around the bend and weakened. DISOBEY tracked outside a pair of rivals, took the turn four then three wide and faded out of contention. THE TRAINER OF SUPERNAL LODGED AN OJBECTION AGAINST PIPER'S CAUSEWAY FOR ALLEGED INTERFERENCE EARLY IN THE RACE.
