AMERICAN ICON pressed the pace to the outside, traveling well, was between horses as three turned into the stretch edged clear in upper stretch then held on valiantly under steady handling and urging to prevail. YOU GOOD gained the early lead under a snug hold, had AMERICAN ICON disputing the issue to the outside through moderate fractions, joined by HWY TWENTY RIDE at the five-sixteenths, responded when set down in the stretch but was outfinished for the win. HWY TWENTY RIDE broke outward at the start, tracked behind the leaders to the outside of NEPHI, moved to challenge for the lead late on the turn, loomed three wide into the stretch then went flat and was unable to threaten the top two in the late stages. MOONOVERMONTGOMERY raced near the back of the pack through the early stages, was outside of the quartet racing well behind the top three and kept to task to win the battle for the fourth spot. MOON TRIP raced mid-pack to the half, made a mild late bid but did not menace. WICKED PUNCHES allowed to settled at the back, was making an inside move on the far turn the took up sharply just past the five-sixteenths marker and struggled to regain momentum. NEPHI was inside of TWY TWENTY RIDE tracking the dueling leaders, the dropped out after passing the half, joined the trailing trio and was not involved in the stretch run. This race had a timing discrepancy or malfunction and was re-timed using video technology to arrive at the most accurate time.
