Chart notes
CHIEF SLEW got away well and assumed the early lead, responded when set down at the top of the stretch and held clear of an outside challenge under steady handling. PENNYS DEAL got bumped on the rebound by GORDITO HERMOSO, steadied slightly then raced close up five wide down the backstretch, bid four wide from the quarter pole and finished up well, chased CHIEF SLEW to the finish but could not get there. HAPPY SEASON veered out after the break into GORDITO HERMOSO, causing a chain reaction, dropped to last going into the turn, bid four wide into the stretch and was kept to task and gained third despite drifting in and out down the lane. ZOEY'S HIPPIE broke first but ceded the lead to CHIEF SLEW, chased that one into the turn, then was outkicked late. GORDITO HERMOSO got roughed up at the start, tracked four wide always close up, loomed a threat near the five-sixteenths pole but lacked the winning kick in the stretch. This race had a timing discrepancy or malfunction and was re-timed using video technology to arrive at the most accurate time.
