Chart notes
THE OLD NINE (IRE) broke well then tracked the top pair up the backstretch, raced along the rail then shifted to the two path late on the bend, tipped out at the top of the lane, grabbed the lead inside the eighth pole and drove clear. MONGOLIAN ALTAI sat off the pace, moved into range on the inside around the turn, tipped out at the top of the lane, came in to interfere with a rival at the eighth pole and gained second from the fence late. UNBREAKABLE TRUST trailed in the early going, went outside a rival into the turn, spun three wide into the lane, moved out and bid in upper stretch but got outkicked by the top pair. WHITE MOUNTAIN was closest in pursuit in the early going, bid two wide around the bend, put a head in front in upper stretch while drifting in a bit, lost command past the eighth pole and flattened out. NAVY JACK (GB) sped clear and crossed over, took pressure from WHITE MOUNTAIN on the turn, shifted while losing command at the top of the lane, then got put in tight by MONGOLIAN ALTAI in upper stretch, clipped heels and fell, then walked into the equine ambulance following the race. FOLLOWING AN INQUIRY, THE STEWARDS DISQUALIFIED MONGOLIAN ALTAI FROM SECOND TO UNPLACED FOR SHIFTING IN AND CAUSING NAVY JACK (GB) TO CLIP HEELS AND UNSEAT THE RIDER IN UPPER STRETCH.
