Chart notes
BEEF WINSLOW stalked in the two path outside a rival, shifted in to bother HEART HEADED early on the backstretch, put that rival in tight early on the far turn as well, took aim three wide late on the far turn, surged clear in upper stretch and won going away. VANTASTIC settled in the two path, remained a bit off the rail through the far turn, moved out a bit into the lane and gained second. UNCLE HAPPY dueled for command inside AWESOME RHYTHM to the top of the stretch, yielded to the winner outside the eighth pole, weakened in the furlong grounds but was able to save third. ESCAPE ARTIST unhurried in the beginning and moved inside, trailed to the stretch, angled out in the lane and missed third. HEART HEADED stalked the top pair along the fence, got put in tight by BEEF WINSLOW and checked at the five-eighths pole, got put in tight again by that rival and brushed the rail in between the three-eighths pole and five-sixteenths marker, remained inside to the lane, lacked room from the three-sixteenths pole to the eighth pole, moved out into the clear and kept on while failing to threaten. AWESOME RHYTHM dueled from outside to the top of the stretch, could not match strides with the winner into the final furlong and weakened in the late stages. THERE WAS A STEWARDS' INQUIRY INVOLVING BEEF WINSLOW AND HEART HEADED ON THE FAR TURN. FOLLOWING A REVIEW, THE STEWARDS RULED THAT ALTHOUGH BEEF WINSLOW PUT HEART HEADED IN TIGHT QUARTERS PAST THE EIGHTH POLE, THE INCIDENT DID NOT WARRANT A DISQUALIFICATION.
