Chart notes
HOPESHECANRUN was quick from the break and hooked up early with SCAMPERING MA'AM, assumed command approaching the quarter pole, kicked clear when asked in the stretch and went unchallenged to the finish line. CHIP SHORTAGE raced between horses in the second flight, got a rail run through the turn, came under pressure leaving the five-sixteenths marker, kept to task and won a tight battle for the place. DESTINY'S GRACE tracked three wide with the second flight, launched a bid to go after the leader leaving the five-sixteenths pole, bid three wide and finished well under steady handling and urging but got nosed out for second. THAT'S MY MAMA was the early trailer but not far from the front, started to run on with three furlongs to run, came four wide into the stretch, finished willingly but could not crack the top three. FLYING I tracked inside with the second flight, dropped to last place the turn, then tried to re-rally five wide into the stretch but could not make an impact. SCAMPERING MA'AM broke well and dueled outside of HOPESHECANRUN through the early stages, gave way before the quarter pole then had little to offer in the stretch.
