Chart notes
GOVENOR HANK prompted the pace outside, was floated out further leaving the turn, dug in and wore down SPEIGHTIEMAN inside the furlong marker and inched clear. REDBIRD NATION rushed to contention along the inside, dropped off of the leaders on the turn, got through toward the inside into the stretch, battled on and was just up to garner the runner up spot. SPEIGHTIEMAN set the pressured pace off of the inside, drifted out leaving the turn, weakened following a prolonged drive and gave way. BRAHMS JR. saved ground but lacked a response when called upon. HOBBS was never a factor.
