Chart notes
PRIVATE GEM stalked the top pair up the backstretch, crept closer under patient handling around the bend, bid inside BOOK SMART at the top of the stretch, took over shortly after, put that rival away under a tap of right handed urging inside the eighth pole, then drew away while ridden out to the wire. FINAL STORM broke a bit slow on the outside, lagged behind the field while steering to the inside, gained from the fence in upper stretch, moved out in the furlong grounds and closed well to get up for second. BOOK SMART came away quickly, shifted out and bumped TAPATIO LEO early, dueled with that rival up the backstretch, inched ahead before clearing briefly late on the bend, was confronted by PRIVATE GEM at the three-sixteenths pole, relinquished the lead shortly after, yielded to that rival midstretch and weakened in the final sixteenth. SPIRITUAL ADVISOR bobbled leaving the gate, chased from off the pace on the inside then moved out past the half-mile pole, came back to the inside approaching the turn, eased out to the six path around the bend and churned on for a minor placing. GEEZER took a bump from inside early, chased the dueling pair outside the winner early, raced three wide on the turn before angling out with a quarter mile remaining and weakened down the lane. TAPATIO LEO got knocked into GEEZER by BOOK SMART early, forced the issue outside BOOK SMART up the backstretch and around the turn, started to drift out at the quarter pole and folded in the stretch.
