Chart notes
KINGS RIVER KNIGHT stepped to the front and moved inside, controlled the pace to the far turn, took some pressure from STAMP MY PASSPORT on the far turn, turned that rival away entering the stretch, kicked clear when asked left handed and drew off under urging. TAKES THREE followed in range between foes or in the two path, crept closer around the far turn, tipped out in the lane, could not summon the needed rally to threaten the winner but was able edge COALINGA ROAD for the place honors. COALINGA ROAD stalked the pacesetter from inside, shifted out slightly from the at the three-eighths pole, remained inside to the stretch, kept trying down the lane but got outkicked for second. CLOUSEAU bumped with FREEPORT JOE at the start, saved ground through both turns, angled out into the stretch and improved position. FREEPORT JOE bumped with CLOUSEAU leaving the gate, was rank early trailing outside a rival, continued two wide through the far turn, steered out approaching the stretch and failed to menace. STAMP MY PASSPORT raced up close in the two path, put in a mild bid from outside on the far turn, got turned away nearing the stretch and weakened between rivals. BARELY FUNTIONAL stalked three wide around both turns and faded down the lane.
