Chart notes
KAWAZAKI (IRE) dueled from inside then ceded command to SILENT HEAT first time through the stretch, stalked along the rail into the far turn, came under a ride while moving to the two path, angled four wide late on the bend, fought on even terms with BALDORO into the final furlong and drew clear under hand urging. BALDORO stalked the top pair for a bit then moved into second in the two path on the first turn, challenged between rivals on the second bend, put a head in front at the quarter pole, dueled into the final furlong, yielded to the winner in the final furlong and stayed on to secure second. SMOOTH SALUTE settled along the inside, moved out on the backstretch and picked up stride, challenged three deep on the far turn, fought between at the top of the lane, finished determinedly but got edged for second. SILENT HEAT dueled from outside then cleared inner rivals approaching the first turn and moved over to the inside, controlled the pace up the backstretch, took pressure from a pair of rivals on the far turn, lost command at the quarter pole, fought back to upper stretch and weakened in the final furlong. AMERICAN EMPIRE brushed the gate to lose a step at the start, settled outside a rival, chased in range to the far turn, drop back in the two path around that bend and faded.
