PIPER'S FACTOR sat on the rail in midfield going into the first of two turns, shifted out in the two path headstrong bullying his way through horses around the three quarter pole, darted between foes quickening the tempo down the backstretch considerably loose up top having the wind at its back, continued to freewheel unchallenged on the last bend, began to get leg weary hold on in mid-stretch and just got caught right at the wire for the win. SOCIETY'S THUNDER settled in the three path in mid-pack in the first turn, was in tight between rivals when bounced around trying to hold position midway around the bend, recovered smartly to watch the top pair on the inside of a rival down the backstretch, edged up on the fence around the last turn, was no match for the front pair who had it to themselves down the stretch but did fight on stubbornly until the end to win the duel for the third place. NIAGARA SKYLINE was in the mix four wide on the outside up top, holding position around the first turn, was taken back into the backstretch to watch the lead two while outside a rival down the backstretch, inched up outside on the far turn to be in the hunt four wide in upper stretch, could not match strides with the lead duo in the lane, battled for the show award at the eighth pole but just missed out at the finish. WOLFIE'S DYNAGHOST stumbled on the break to co-trail outside another, could see the pack along the back straight, began to pick up runners outside with three furlongs to go, shifted to the five path at the top of the lane and finished with intent in the final furlong. MCAVOY co-trailed on the inside in the early going, stalked close to the back making little progress along the backside, regressed on the fence around the last bend and showed some late interest passing a few tired runners outside driving to the finish line. MALIBU MAMBO was pushed out by the inside rival going into the first turn, improved three deep on the outside down the backstretch, ran on mildly in mid-division outside foes on the far turn and evened out in the three path in the stretch drive. CRUMLIN LAD pressed the pace inside trying to keep the rail position, had to be checked on the fence at the three quarter pole to be shuffled back to midfield in the backstretch, had little to offer saving ground on the final turn and could not get involved inside down the lane. SECRET RESERVE travelled behind horses in the four path in mid-pack in the beginning, shifted out off runners seven wide going into the first, stalked inside ahead of a couple of runners down the backside, made no headway on the far turn and was empty for the stretch drive. TRAINERS CLAIM OF FOUL #4 SOCIETYS THUNDER AGAINST #2 PIPERS FACTOR AT THE THREE QUARTER POLE RESULTED IN NO CHANGE.The half-mile fraction was omitted due to a possible timing malfunction.
